General Educational Activity
The general educational activity that I have participated in at SUNY Sullivan is detailed in other tabs on this website. My CV is located in the "CV/Recs" tab (which also has letters that detail my participation in many community and general community educational activities), and student mentoring is detailed in the "Advising/Character" tab. I (also) have a Performing Arts Club tab that summarizes many of the details that the organization contributes to the community and the general community.

On this page are my Form AF (2014-2021 Annual Report of Teaching Faulty) documents which detail the following:
- Evidence of my contribution to education programs and administrative work of the college beyond my typical job duties;
- Evidence of my contributions to the instructional division or unit;
- Evidence of student mentoring and assistance to student organizations (this last is further explored in the "Performing Arts Club" tab);
- Evidence of my relationships with the community and general community participation.
Highlights from all the Annual Forms include:
- Appearing on the front page of the last week of July 2021's New York Times Arts Section in the 2nd Year of Farm Arts Collective's DREAM ON THE FARM;
- Performing in productions at NACL Theatre since 2015, including a featured Deep Space Residency in July 2022 with Emily Windler's CAVE PLAY;
- Performing and working at Shadowland Stages in 2015 and 2017;
- Directing 21 productions and producing/coordinating 33 more at SUNY Sullivan since the inception of the program in 2014;
- Coordinating 8 play reading series to choose each season with the community/students;
- Intentional season planning that includes a commitment to one female playwright and one BIPOC playwright in every season; one contemporary; one classical piece, and one musical in every season (which are the genres that students need to be comfortable with in the professional world; every other year one Golden Age of Spain play is the classical offering supertitled in the original Spanish to root out the cult of Shakespeare and to reach out to the Latine community; gender fluid and color-conscious casting notices put in our audition notices; having auditioners commit to the demands of the "We See You White American Theater" in every audition form;
- Professional Development opportunities for our students have included Kim Delfina Gleason - Navajo actor/director/playwright/producer; Markus Maurette - current special effects coordinator for HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD; Earl Alexander - actor/voice-over performer most known for his voice-over of Louis on the video game Left4Dead; Audi-award winning voice-over actor Tavia Gilbert; award-winning Navajo playwright Rianna Yazzie; lighting/projection/set designer Tláloc López-Watermann; and Broadway/Opera stage manager Danielle Ranno;
- Performing in a motion picture concept trailer for a movie tentatively entitled THE MANOR by Nico Martinez (Summer 2021);
- Starring as Savage in SAVAGE IN LIMBO in an August 2022 production at Samba Café in Jeffersonville, NY;
- Starring as Diana in NEXT TO NORMAL alongside many of our current majors and alumni at SUNY Sullivan in Spring 2022;
- Starring as Ginger in ROSEMARY WITH GINGER to pair with our new addiction counselor certificate in January 2022, directed by SUNY Sullivan graduate Brianna Worden and theater major Willahna Burdick;
- Starring as Cora in GIDION'S KNOT, directed by Paul Austin of Liberty Free Theatre, paired with our work at SUNY Sullivan for suicide awareness month in September 2018;
- Performing in and coordinating VDay/One Billion Rising Events since 2015, raising money for women and adjacent women who have experienced violence and/or rape;
- Curating, developing, and producing 8 world-premieres since 2017: MARSHALL COUNTY LINE (2017) - a jam-band musical adaptation of Shakespeare's MEASURE FOR MEASURE written by SUNY Sullivan professor Dr. Gabriel Rikard; LORCA EATS BULLETS (2017, 2018, and 2020) written by SUNY Sullivan assistant professor Nick López; BLACKDAMP (2020, 2021) written by SUNY Sullivan assistant professor Bradley Diuguid; SHAKESPEARE IN ISOLATION (2021) adapted from Shakespeare's work by myself and Nick López; THANK YOU/I'M SORRY (2020, 2021, 2022) written by SUNY Sullivan alumni Brianna Worden and Janna Walter; AND THE VIOLINS STOPPED PLAYING (2020) adapted by myself from Alexander Ramati's book; ORESTEIA: LIVE (2020) ensemble directed, written, and acted; and the English-language premiere of the 17th century play THE COUNT PARTINUPLES/el conde partinuples by Ana Caro Mallen, translated Harley Erdman.
- Having a Theater Major approved by SUNY as of February 2018 with 14 graduates to date and 14 more in process (2 of these have since graduated SUNY New Paltz, 1 from Buffalo State University, 1 from SUNY Potsdam, 1 from SUNY Oneonta,1 from SUNY Plattsburgh, and 1 from College of Brockport);
- I was a stage technician for the World Premiere of BLUE VALIANT by Karen Malpede with famous actors Kathleen Chalfant and George Bartenieff at Farm Arts Collective.
- I was the narrator and singer for the Music Institute of Sullivan and Ulster Counties’ production of AESOP’S FABLES by composer Richard Maltz (July 2021) and FERDINAND THE BULL FOR VIOLIN AND NARRATOR by composer Alain Ridout (2020 and 2021)
- The building of articulation/2x2 agreements with many SUNY Theater Programs and fostering these transitions for Theater Major graduates - we have had students seamlessly transfer as juniors to SUNY Albany, SUNY Plattsburgh, SUNY Potsdam, SUNY Oneonta, SUNY Purchase, SUNY New Paltz, Buffalo State University, and College of Brockport,
- Creating a theater advisory committee comprised of members of many of the professional theaters and arts organizations in Sullivan, Ulster, and Wayne counties;
- Performing in three productions that focus on climate change: THE WEATHER PROJECT (NACL Theatre-2015); COURAGE (NACL Theatre 2016-2017), and DREAM ON THE FARM - Year 2 (Farm Arts Collective - 2021), and I am currently helping develop Year 4;
- Having the SUNY Sullivan productions since 2016, adjudicated by the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival;
- Attending the Region 1 Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival in Danbury, CT, Cape Cod Community College, and virtually, with about 10 students every year since 2017;
- Heading a workshop on Disability Theater in February 2020, with Brianna Worden and Janna Walter for their play about neurofibromatosis; heading a panel discussion on theater for students in Generational Poverty with students and alumni from SUNY Sullivan in February 2021; and co-teaching a workshop on sustainable season planning in February 2023 at the Region 1 Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival;
- Heading a workshop on intentional season planning with Nick López for the February 2023 Region 1 Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival;
- The Stats from the 2021-2023 Seasons, based on the analytics: People served in the productions: 47 people (26 community members, 30 students, 6 faculty/staff, 13 alumni) from 5 stages (Seelig Theatre in thrust and proscenium, Hope Farm, and 3 virtual stages), 3 cities, 3 Time Zones, 3 Tribal Lands; Audience served in the productions: 893 in-person audience members; 403 views, 109 concurrent viewers;
- Serving as co-chair for our Middle States Commission on Higher Education Core Team and a member of Standard VI's Committee since November 2020;
- Directing ALICE IN WONDERLAND: a new musical and assistant directing FULLY COMMITTED in Forestburgh Playhouse's 2022 Season;
- Continuing SUNY Sullivan's relationship with Bethel Woods' Performing Arts Department with workshops from Broadway and Opera Award-winning choreographer/company Camille A. Brown in 2021-2022; Diversity Day Workshops at NACL Theatre in September 2016 and Liberty, NY's Downtown Barn in October 2016;
- Serving as Parliamentarian from 2016-Present for Faculty Council, the Engagement Committee from 2015-until 2019, and President's Cabinet from 2019-Present;
- Taking the Performing Arts Club to a Broadway show every semester since 2014 (Spring and Fall 2020 when Broadway was closed);
- Teaching Theater History I to the students at Sullivan County Correctional Facility;
- I participated in theater upgrade discussions with Envision Architects in May 2019, which continued in June 2019, resulting in a Master Plan for the Theater that could make it the most technically advanced and accessible theater in a 120 mile radius;
- I am now versed in ETC Ion Lightboard software and hardware, QLab sound software, Vectorworks (an AutoCAD program that we ended up using during the pandemic), Lightwright (a lighting/electrics software used by lighting design professionals that we used during the pandemic), ATEM Mini Pro softare/hardware, iMovie for video editing, Wondershare for video capturing, YouTube Content Creation and Streaming, StreamLabs software for streaming, GiveButter.com for online donations, Playbillder.com for online programs, Isadora Projections design software, Zoom OSC (a software designed to allow you to control the Zoom Room, Soundtrap (a digital sound recording studio/editing studio), Zoom Webinars and Zoom Rooms, green screen/chroma keying, virtual backgrounds, Photoshop for virtual backgrounds and public relations, all of the social media platforms for public relations, and much much more…
- Taking a 4-week intensive physical theater workshop with Brad Krumholz of NACL Theatre in June 2016; taking several workshops on consent/intimacy work during 2020-2021; and furthering my professional development by taking classes on playwriting/design/acting/producing/fight choreography at the Region 1 Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival 2017-Present;
- Teaching Forum Theater methods for the Title IX/Affirmative Consent training during our orientation days in August 2016 and January 2017;
- Stilted at Convocation and the Halloween Community events;
- Launching the Intercultural Communications class in the Fall 2016 semester;
- Launching the Physical Theater I-II and Voice and Diction I-II classes in Fall 2016 and Spring 2017;
- Launching Methods of Elementary Theater Education class for the Education majors;
- Hiring Adjunct professors Nick López, Daniel Lendzian, Tannis Kowalchuk, and Bradley Diuguid;
- Participated in the Learning Management System (LMS) Committee to research, advise, and find a new LMS for SUNY Sullivan and participated in all of the transitions;
- Began teaching Shakespeare: Selected Works to serve as a Dramatic Literature credit in the SUNY Transfer path;
- Launched the Theater History II class in Spring 2017 semester;
