Plays and Playwrights With Disabilities

In 2008, I (with the help of Susan Stroupe and Isabel Mahoney) compiled a list of plays by people with disabilities and plays with characters who have disabilities. When I worked a VSA North Fourth Art Center, I became very interested in the work of artists with disabilities and realized that this minority group is our largest minority group in the United States, and it doesn't have the same voice as many other minority groups. I thought that if I compiled a list of work, I could engender other theater artists to start including this minority group into their audience development and in their programming.
